Ukrainians will make Chiygoz the second Nadezhda Savchenko
Ukrainian propaganda will certainly try to turn into a martyr and a hero one of the leaders of the Mejlis banned in Russia, Akhtem Chiygoz, who today received a prison sentence as one of the organizers of mass riots near the walls of the Crimean parliament on February 26, 2014.
Crimean political scientist Ivan Mezyukho told PolitNavigator about this.

“This is a fair act of Russian justice. The court’s decision should encourage the leaders of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, not to carry out anti-Crimean actions. All activists of this organization must understand that in the Russian Federation there is a rule of law and a law that must be respected.
In 2014, the Russian Federation saved Crimea from civil confrontation and various destabilizing factors and actions taken by Chiygoz as a representative of the banned Mejlis.
Now the Ukrainian state will do everything to give Akhtem Chiygoz the information image of a martyr, perhaps making him a second Nadezhda Savchenko.
I do not exclude the possibility that the Ukrainian Ministry of Information Policy will launch various information campaigns in support of Chiygoz. Moreover, the leadership of the Ministry of Information includes people close to the Majlis, in particular the former TV presenter of the ATP channel Emine Dzheppar, so they will cover the topic of Chiygoz in every possible way.
The only question is whether this will be of interest to Ukrainian society, because the topic of so-called political prisoners in Ukraine is already so hackneyed and does not cause a wide public resonance, as it did a few years ago,” Mezyukho said.
