This was reported by the Antonov press service.
The document was signed during the AFED-2018 exhibition, which takes place in Riyadh from February 25 to March 3, 2018.
The parties agreed that the initial batch of serial An-132 transport aircraft will be built at Antonov in cooperation with Taqnia and Wahaj. At this stage, Antonov will be the main contractor, and the partners will produce units and elements in accordance with the cooperation scheme. In particular, Wahaj will produce the chassis and equipment for it.
The next stages include deepening cooperation in the production of Antonov aircraft based on a strategic plan for creating production facilities in Saudi Arabia.
It is reported that the An-132 is a multi-role aircraft designed to transport military personnel and military equipment. The project is being implemented by the Antonov State Enterprise within the framework of a cooperation agreement concluded in April 2015 with the Saudi Arabian King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and Taqnia Aeronautics Co. The project also involved such manufacturers of aviation components as the Canadian Pratt & Whitney Canada and CMC Electronics, the American Honeywell, the Swiss Liebherr, and the British Dowty Propellers.
