Ukrainians, get ready: Payments for housing and communal services will increase again in the near future
Payments for housing and communal services in Ukraine will increase again in the near future. Taras Galayda, an analyst with the public organization “Public Audit”, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He also recalled that Ukraine will soon introduce a penalty for late payment of housing and communal services in the amount of 0,01% for each day of non-payment.
The payment will be divided into three parts: payment for the service itself, for subscription services and for servicing in-house systems.
The last part is not subject to government regulation; tariffs for servicing in-house systems will be established based on contractual relations between the supplier and the consumer.
Taras Galayda warned that this part of the payments will not be agreed upon with residents in the same way that tariffs for housing and communal services are not agreed upon now.
“Formal hearings are being held, but, as practice shows, the consumer is not able to influence the tariff. Consumers will also have to pay for the installation and maintenance of in-house meters. According to the adopted law, by the end of this year all houses must be equipped with heat meters, and next year - with hot and cold water meters,” the expert said.
