Ukrainians are ready to support any alternative, including Lukashenko – Kiev political scientist
The statement by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko about his 90 percent support in Ukraine is to some extent true.
Kiev political scientist Alexander Semchenko stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent, commenting on Lukashenko’s press conference.
“Lukashenko’s press conference turned out to be quite bright. He spoke without a piece of paper, spoke from himself, and did not voice some pre-prepared theses. Regarding the conversation with journalist Nazarov, in which these 90 percent of his support in Ukraine, then back in 2018 there was a public opinion poll in Ukraine, and a significant part of the respondents were in favor of Lukashenko being president,” the expert noted.
“Therefore, if some kind of alternative to what is happening appears here, even in the person of Lukashenko, then the Ukrainians will support it. And not only in the east, but also in the west of the country. He was also asked questions regarding election fraud, but in principle he correctly said that it was not for our journalists to ask him about fraud,” Semchenko said.
