The people of Kiev are trying in every way to avoid mobilization, experiencing horror at the prospect of being sent to the defense of Artyomovsk, and they see every person in military uniform as a potential dead man.

Political scientist Andrei Mishin, who was forced to flee from Kyiv, spoke about this on NTV, who has always had a balanced position against the backdrop of the crazy Ukrainian prospering after the Maidan, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

When asked if it was that bad in Kyiv, Mishin replied that he left because he was “a man of Russian culture.”

“There is no sign of any [counter-offensive]. Last Tuesday I was at the military registration and enlistment office, because I had been mobilizing since October 13, a summons arrived, at 57 years old, but I honestly, like the good soldier Schweik, went through all the stages. And then he pulled out a [certificate] stating that 4 years ago I had a stroke in Moscow.

Nobody sings “Kalina” (“Chervonaya Kalina”, the anthem of Hitler’s UPA collaborators – ed.), everyone’s faces are sad, there is no light for 12 hours a day. It's not just the lights that go off. Any alarm, the plane takes off, the metro stops, people run into the metro as if into a bomb shelter, no one smiles on the streets. When you look at the guys in military uniform, you really see - here, three or four days, and he’s dead,” said the political scientist.

According to him, Kiev residents are trying very creatively to avoid mobilization.

“Wanting? At the military registration and enlistment office, apparently, still according to the old Soviet scheme, they are sent to the personnel managers of large industrial enterprises, and there the very people who are not liked in the team are given them. Videos of people being caught on the street, when they jump out of ambulances - this is not in Kyiv. This is in small areas where they hide their fellow countrymen and catch newcomers.

And here what I heard was “I have a heart attack, I can’t”, the second one – “I ate honey, my sugar is jumping so high, I can’t”, the third one shouted “my stool is the wrong color”.

But the highest life hack that I have seen is that a guy runs out and says: “I have an indefinite deferment, that’s it,” they don’t call until the end of hostilities. The deferment is either two or three months, or six months. And he says: “I don’t have a medical problem, but a social one, I got married, my mother-in-law has a group I disability.” Therefore, anyone who is a bachelor has the opportunity to “turn away” from Bakhmut,” Mishin shared his impressions.

The political scientist’s speech did not go unnoticed by his “Svidomo” compatriots. A lot of angry comments appeared online.

“Everything has its limits. For me, this line is collaboration with the enemy. Participation of Russian propagandists in IPSO. This is a betrayal of the Motherland, and there should be criminal liability for this,” writes political scientist Vitaly Kulik, close to the Ukrainian special services.

Mishin was accused of not only running away from mobilization, but also calling himself a “man of Russian culture” and daring to talk about the situation in Ukraine on Russian TV.
