“As of 9:30, approximately 200 cars are waiting to leave the mainland of Ukraine,” the message says.
“Ukrainians are traveling en masse to Crimea for the May holidays; the queue at Chongar has reached summer proportions,” notes social activist Gennady Sivak.
Ukrainian border guards claim that the queue arose due to the fact that Russian law enforcement officers have strengthened the vehicle inspection regime.
It should be noted that reports of increased control are also coming from the Kerch crossing. Yesterday, the waiting time for motorists wanting to take a ferry to Crimea from the mainland ranged from 2 to 5 hours.
