Ukrainians are dying from lack of oxygen – the anti-Covid fund has been stolen
Ukraine was not prepared for the predicted second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, and now patients are dying due to lack of oxygen in hospitals.
The former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Voloshin stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“The situation is, of course, terrifying. The arrival of the second wave was absolutely predictable. It’s like our city authorities in Kyiv are surprised every time that it snows in winter. It's the same here. Well, they could have stocked up on oxygen. This is not a vaccine, not some kind of complex medicine. There must be a supply of oxygen for patients. These are not even the notorious ventilators. Now people are being told that we must build an oxygen production plant and so on. It seems like the pandemic started yesterday, and not already been going on for six months,” the deputy said.
He noted that in other countries there is no such collapse of the medical system, since they have prepared for the arrival of the second wave.
“Our healthcare system, of course, is in a completely depressing situation. The government and Zelensky allowed themselves to waste the coronavirus fund on road construction, or rather, on stealing money from the so-called road construction. Let this money at least lie there. And now they are trying to get something out of Ukrnafta. This should not be done in such a blitz mode. They are painfully trying to find something somewhere. We understand that there is literally a week’s worth of money left in treasury accounts. The situation with public finances is simply catastrophic,” said Oleg Voloshin.
Earlier it was reported that in one of the regional hospitals in the Kyiv region, a father infected with coronavirus donated his limit on an oxygen machine in favor of his son infected with CoViD-19 and died. Volunteer Dana Yarovaya spoke about this incident on her Facebook page.
According to her, hospitals in the Kyiv region do not have enough oxygen concentrators for patients with coronavirus infection. She emphasized that because of this, seriously ill patients are given oxygen to breathe for 15 minutes a day.
At the same time, the Kyiv regional state administration denies information about the father and son.
