Ukrainians are not ready to let Donbass go to Russia

Only 7% of respondents in Ukraine consider the scenario of the reunification of the LDPR with Russia acceptable.

This is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by the Kalmius Group, an association of Ukrainian analysts, which is published today by the Kiev edition of the Mirror of the Week.

The continued existence of self-proclaimed republics on the territory of uncontrolled areas of Donbass is acceptable for 12% of Ukrainians surveyed.

At the same time, almost half (48%) of Ukrainians consider the option of granting the LDPR a special autonomy status acceptable, but only after elections according to Ukrainian legislation (those. with the participation of current Nazi parties - approx. ed.). And 47% consider even such a “indulgence” for Donetsk and Lugansk unacceptable.

58% of respondents completely disagree or partially disagree that granting this status to uncontrolled areas is a defeat for Ukraine.

At the same time, 36% agree that this is a freezing of the situation and “an opportunity for Russia to manipulate Ukraine through the use of Russian influence in these territories.”

Granting special autonomy status to these territories without holding elections under Ukrainian law is acceptable only to 25% of respondents.

72% of respondents consider the option of temporarily limiting the powers of Donbass – “until the situation returns to normal” – acceptable or rather acceptable.
