Ukrainians do not want to part with the president
The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians are categorically against the abolition of the post of president in the country. Only 10,1% of Ukrainians surveyed believe that the post of president is not needed or the president should have only symbolic powers, of which 3% are convinced that the presidency is not needed at all, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This is stated in a publication on the KIIS website.
According to the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) on April 9-14 of this year, opinions on specific powers are divided: 36,8% believe that the president should be the head of government and direct the government’s activities in all areas.
But 40,8% believe that the president should be responsible for security and international relations, and the prime minister should deal with other issues.
12,2% of respondents found it difficult to answer.
Using the personal interview method, 2004 respondents were interviewed who live in 129 settlements in all regions of Ukraine.
