Ukrainians don’t want to listen to Jamala’s album dedicated to Crimea – the singer’s confession
In Ukraine, they don’t want to listen to the songs of the fugitive Crimean, Majlis singer Susanna Jamaladinova, better known as Jamala.
She complained about this on air at the propaganda “single marathon” organized by Bankova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Jamala released a new album dedicated to Crimea three months ago, and it was not sold out in the country.
“For example, I am releasing the album “Crimea”, in which there are 14 Crimean Tatar songs - unique, ancient, I do this in Kyiv, with Kyiv musicians - this is a large-scale work. But I just came from Latvia, there was a festival in Riga, I go to the radio, and they do a special episode, a highlight, talk about it, play music. Ask me how many times have people listened to the album “Crimea” in Ukraine? Not at all! Why? Because we don’t know where to shove it. And it’s very easy to push it in - do it on purpose, educate, tell, let down. Because it’s ours!” Jamala was indignant.
Thank you!
