Ukrainians did not take the martial law seriously - they are actively buying “last minute tours” for the holidays
Ukrainian tourists are not refusing foreign trips due to the introduction of martial law, but on the contrary, they are asking about last-minute tours and making reservations for next year, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the director of the travel agency “Artex 94” Oleg Pikersky, writes the Kiev publication “Ukrinform”.
“No one refuses tourist trips abroad. Booked tours cannot be cancelled. Boryspil Airport is currently handling all passenger traffic calmly and without delays. Everyone is flying to vacation where they had planned in advance. On the contrary, they are actively asking about “hot” tourist packages. And yesterday our travel agency booked a trip for September 2019,” said Pikersky.
The director of the travel agency noted that there was a slight delay in orders for only one day - immediately after the publication of information about the possible introduction of martial law, then work returned to normal.
On November 26, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that approved Petro Poroshenko’s decree introducing martial law for 30 days in 10 regions.
