Ukrainians are indignant: DPR and LPR flags appeared in Lisbon
On the eve of the Eurovision 2018 song contest in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 6, the Russian delegation organized the “Immortal Regiment” action, the participants of which carried, in particular, the flags of the LPR and DPR.
This was reported by Hromadske Radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Participants in the action, in addition to portraits of their relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War, carried the flags of Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus and Russia.
At the head of the column was singer Yulia Samoilova, representing Russia at the song competition.
In addition to the Russians, the Portuguese also took part in the action. These were representatives of Portuguese left-wing organizations.
In turn, Ukrainians living in Portugal came out wearing T-shirts insulting Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We went to the protest to record who was there, who was using the symbols and who was the organizer of the protest. On the square next to the Russian flags there were flags of the DPR and LPR. We asked some participants in the action with Ukrainian flags whether they were really Ukrainians. They said no. There were also Georgian flags. The man who held this flag said that he was Belarusian. There were flags of other countries, but the people who carried them were hardly representatives of those countries,” says Sadoha, chairman of the Union of Ukrainians in Portugal.
