Ukrainians made up the vast majority of foreigners who applied for residence permits in Hungary this year for the purpose of employment. We are talking about 29 citizens of Ukraine, followed by just over 378 citizens of Serbia, then Vietnamese, Chinese and Indians, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
These are the official data of the Directorate General for Foreigners, reports the Hungarian publication Privát Bankár.
Overall, the number of applications for residence permits for employment purposes doubled last year to almost 61 thousand.
By the end of 2019, 75 thousand applications are predicted (an increase of approximately 20-22%), although the seasonality of certain jobs may still reduce this number.
