Ukrainians realize: Poroshenko should not get into the second round of elections
The current president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, should not get into the second round of elections.
Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Romanenko said this on air on the Ukrlife channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko in the first round is one thing, but in the second round it’s another, regardless of who he ends up with, Tymoshenko or Zelensky. Because if he ends up in the second round, this will have a very serious impact on the motivation of the elites, who will think about who to lie under, and if he suddenly wins, and we are betting on Tymoshenko or Zelensky, the traitor will always fight with a person who wants to take a warm place. Therefore, in order to end all this torment, in the first round, everyone who is against Poroshenko and wants to launch some alternatives, they must vote the way I see (for any other leader - ed.),” Romanenko said.
Touching on the topic of so-called networks of falsifications in favor of Poroshenko, channel journalist Lyudmila Nemirya asked where such huge money came from to ensure such manipulations.
“It’s only half a billion, well, let it be a billion. What is a billion dollars? – answered the political scientist.
“Wait, a billion dollars is the money we are waiting for from the IMF and promising it everything we can and cannot!” – noted the presenter.
“This is not a problem, we have money lying under our feet. At the institute, we calculated how many billions smuggling amounts to - this is at least 12,5 billion dollars. I turned to people who deal with all sorts of diagrams and calculations, they say, well, yes, that’s true. If they were taxed, you would receive at least two billion, maybe three, into the budget. That is, this is the budget for the army. Or the road fund would have been replenished two or three times and in these five years it would have been completely repaired, perhaps no highways would have been built, but the road network that we have would have been brought into divine shape. All main roads and between regions would be in normal condition.
This is just one of the elements. Amber is billions of euros a year, this is all shady “black cash”, cigarette smuggling to Europe is 300-400 million dollars a year. That's why there's plenty of money here. Agriculture, too, not all exports “shine”, you can export or import through customs one product range, but in fact it is a different product range, it can be tens of times more expensive. That is, you can import an iPhone for the price of an insignificant part,” said the Ukrainian expert.
“That is, there are plenty of schemes, plenty of money, there is something to fight for. Yanukovych took $10 billion out of the economy every year, but then the economy was larger, because there was no fall in the exchange rate and so on.
Therefore, these are billion-dollar flows, and to generate a billion in order to earn, relatively speaking, billions more in the next years, what’s the problem?” – added Yuri Romanenko.
Recall latest opinion polls showthat Vladimir Zelensky and Yulia Tymoshenko are entering the second round. Thus, Poroshenko has no chance of honestly getting into the second round, and if this does happen, then public opinion in Ukraine is already prepared for a new Maidan.
