Ukrainians worked out the surrender of Mariupol and Berdyansk to the DPR
Ukraine only miraculously retained Mariupol and Berdyansk in its composition, admitted ATO militant Dmitry Korchinsky on Ukrainian TV.

“During the Ilovaisk events, not a single adequate decision was made. Neither political nor military. There was no intelligence; the leadership of sector “M” learned about the Russian invasion of the territory of their sector about a day after it began. Not because it was bad leadership - this was the state of affairs in the Armed Forces and the country at that time.
As a result of the loss of Ilovaisk, we were preparing to surrender Mariupol. And they were even ready to surrender Berdyansk. All departments that were there were withdrawn from Mariupol. Only “Azov” and half of the “Shakhtersk” battalion remained. The hospital was evacuated, military doctors were not even allowed into Berdyansk, because they thought that Berdyansk would be taken too.
That is, the political and military-political leadership of the country was so unaware of the real situation that they already believed that we had also lost Mariupol. And it took several days to make a decision on the defense of Mariupol. It’s a miracle we didn’t lose him, actually,” Korchinsky said.
