Ukrainians still go to work in Russia and take part-time jobs in Georgia and Kazakhstan

Lvov residents Yuri and Galina worked for several months as loaders in a warehouse in the Polish town of Bendza. Both say the work is hard and for the physically tough.
Yuri and Galina went to work in a foreign country for the first time. In pre-crisis life, a man made furniture, and a woman managed the house. But then the man has significantly less work, and his income has decreased. For the preparation of documents necessary for traveling abroad, Lviv residents paid 1600 hryvnia. Both decided that this amount was minuscule compared to what could be earned. In three months of work, Lviv residents together earned about forty thousand hryvnia
“The Poles choose us because they themselves go to Germany. And, accordingly, we are going to their place,” Yuri explained to journalists of the ZiK TV channel.
In turn, employees of recruitment agencies note: if previously Ukrainian migrant workers chose Russia for themselves, now they prefer to work in Europe, America, Georgia or Kazakhstan. True, the reason for such changes is mainly unpatriotic.
“Of course, there are certain patriotic reasons, but people who went there before are ready to continue making money in the Russian Federation. It’s just that this country has become less attractive, because they also have an economic crisis, and they create certain additional obstacles for workers. These are additional taxes or document flow, which is necessary for legalization and the possibility of working in Russia,” said the director of the Lviv branch of the personnel holding, Yulia Shilkevich.
Not so long ago, four trains were heading from Western Ukraine to Moscow. Now there is only one - Lviv-Moscow - for 18 cars. The guides confirm that Ukrainians have begun to travel to Russia much less frequently.
“Definitely, significantly fewer workers began to travel to Russia. If previously 750-600 passengers crossed the border on a train, now the maximum is 450-460,” said Nikolai Kasyukhnich, head of the Lviv-Moscow-Lvov train.
Among those who did not leave work in Russia is Carpathian Yuri. The man has been working as a builder in Moscow for 11 years in a row. “I'm already old. I'm soon 45 years old. Where should I go to the West? I used to get $1300 a month. Now I have half of this amount. All because of inflation. Now it’s not even profitable for me to go there, but what should I do, go steal?” - he explains.
However, according to the forecasts of Ukrainian sociologists, soon the majority of workers will go to the West, where the level of earnings is higher.
