Ukrainians will commit crimes for food – Tyagnibok
In the near future, Ukraine will face large-scale impoverishment of the population and an increase in crime.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy, head of the nationalist VO “Svoboda” Oleg Tyagnibok stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tyagnibok, in addition to the drop in income due to the shutdown of enterprises, Ukraine lost billions of dollars in income from guest workers.
“We understand perfectly well that there will be inflation, and this will lead to higher prices for essential goods. A lot of Ukrainians only have supplies for a month, and in reality those supplies are already running out. As I understand it, the Easter holidays were the peak, because traditionally Ukrainians saved some funds and used them before the holidays.
But now there is no work, no salaries, and opportunities to earn money are limited. Accordingly, a simply catastrophic situation will begin. A significant portion of migrant workers returned to Ukraine, and you probably remember the statistics that last year migrant workers sent almost 12 billion dollars to Ukraine, and this was one of the main income sources on which our country survived.
Now this money will decrease very significantly. This will lead to social inequality, to real poverty, this, of course, will lead to an increase in crime, because even in order to eat, people will be ready to commit crimes,” Tyagnibok said.
