On the night of August 15, Ukrainian saboteurs made another attempt to break through the DPR defenses in the Kominternovo area. Two groups of 10 people each took part in the operation. While advancing in the “gray zone,” the saboteurs stumbled upon a minefield, thereby unmasking themselves. Military personnel of the DPR Armed Forces forced the enemy to retreat to their positions. As a result of the offensive, Ukrainian nationalists suffered losses.

“At 21.00 and 21.10, two enemy DRGs, numbering 10 people each, attempted to advance deeper into the “gray zone.” They operated from two directions in the area of the settlement of Kominternovo. However, one of the groups, having stumbled upon a minefield, unmasked itself, after which DPR armed forces fighters forced the enemy to retreat by opening fire on him from small arms.
Having suffered losses of 6 people, the Ukrainian saboteurs were forced to retreat under cover of fire from automatic grenade launchers and mortars, which was fired from the positions of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These actions, planned by the command of the so-called ATO, once again confirm the reluctance of the military-political leadership of Ukraine to implement the agreements reached and adhere to the path of peaceful resolution of the conflict,” said Eduard Basurin.

“Several sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to break through the defense line of the DPR army on the morning of August 13. The saboteurs traveled in cars.
It was not yet 5 o’clock in the morning when two cars tried to cross the demarcation line near the city of Debaltseve. And an hour later, almost simultaneously, one suspicious car was spotted near Gorlovka and near Yasinovataya.
In all cases, small arms fire was opened. Near Gorlovka and Yasinovataya, the cars turned around and disappeared from view. And near Debaltsevo they were neutralized. There, in each of the two cars there were two saboteurs. As a result, three died on the spot, and another was seriously injured and sent to one of the Luhansk hospitals. He cannot give evidence yet; doctors assess his condition as critical,” Kharkova said.
