Ukrainians have lost faith in the future
Three quarters of Ukrainian citizens believe that the situation in the country is developing in the wrong direction.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Sociological Group “Rating”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Only 13% of respondents believe that things in the country are going in the right direction, 11% found it difficult to assess the situation.
This level of pessimism is one of the highest during the study and has persisted since the beginning of 2018. For comparison: in November 2017, only 62% of respondents believed that the situation in the country was developing in the wrong direction, in April 2014 - only 48%.
The situation in the south and east of the country is most pessimistic (83 and 75%, respectively); residents of the center and west are somewhat more optimistic (73% and 74%).
The biggest optimists are Poroshenko’s electorate. Of these, only 20% believe that the situation in the country is developing in the wrong direction, 70% are confident in the opposite.
Those who are ready to vote for Vakarchuk are already much less optimistic (65% and 20%, respectively). The assessments of those who are ready to support other candidates differ little from the average (75-80% and 17-5%).
The survey was conducted on June 14-24, 2018 among 2500 citizens of Ukraine aged 18 years and older through a formal interview (face-to-face). The sample is representative by age, gender, region and type of settlement. Error in the representativeness of the study: no more than 2,0%.
