According to a study conducted by GfK Group, in Ukraine in the second half of 2014, the volume of the market for household appliances and electronics is significantly declining. In the third quarter of this year alone, the volume of this market amounted to only 11,4 billion hryvnia, which is 10,1% less than for the same period in 2013.
Despite the significant decline in sales of large household appliances, which has already affected other areas of activity, such as cargo transportation, repair shops were able to benefit from what was happening.
In general, the market for large household appliances in Odessa today is experiencing one of the most difficult periods in the last 15 years. For some products, the price has risen by 100% or more, and virtually non-existent consumer lending (the share of sales on credit has fallen by 15-20% and does not exceed 25%) has made life even more difficult for Odessa residents, the publication notes.
