Ukrainians call on the West for a naval blockade of Russia
Sanctions should be introduced against all Russian ports on the Black and Azov Seas. The former court Crimean economist, and now an expert on the Maidan of Foreign Affairs, Andrei Klimenko, stated this in Berlin at meetings with politicians and officials organized by George Soros’s Renaissance Foundation.
“We want international sanctions to be imposed on Russian ports on the Azov and Black Seas (including the stevedoring companies that operate there) for organizing traffic to occupied Crimea,” Klimenko retells himself on Facebook.
He believes that the effect of the sanctions will appear even before they are introduced at the announcement stage, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are almost sure that Putin’s aggression against Ukraine will continue. There is a very high probability that this will be a continuation from the sea. Both from Azov and Cherny. Therefore, we will constantly attract the attention of NATO - to convince that the period of duty of NATO naval ships in the Black Sea increases,” writes Klimenko.
“Potentially,” he also proposes a blockade of sea routes through which supplies are carried out to Syria.
