The majority of foreigners arriving in the Russian Federation are citizens of Ukraine, said Olga Kirillova, head of the Main Directorate for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The number of foreign citizens arriving in our country annually remains relatively stable, with the largest share of arrivals being citizens of Ukraine,” Kirillova said in an interview with Interfax on Tuesday.

According to her, today there are about 2 million Ukrainian citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“In addition, for 2014-2017. and in the first half of 2018, more than 312 thousand citizens of Ukraine acquired Russian citizenship,” Kirillova said, noting that this year the migration flow from the neighboring country remained at the same level.
