The Bulgarian Commission for the Protection of Competition rejected the complaint of the Ukrainian company Ukrainmash against holding a tender for the repair of Bulgarian fighters with the participation of only one company - RSK MiG. The Commission's decision makes it possible for the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense to continue negotiations with the Russian company. However, the decision clarifies that the Ukrainian company can appeal the decision to the Supreme Administrative Court.
Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov defined the complaint as sabotage and said the issue would be resolved by the end of February.
29 million leva were allocated for the repair of Bulgarian MiG-82s, however, due to a complaint at the end of 2017, the government reallocated 53.4 million of them to support military airfields and repairs of military school buildings.
