Ukrainians rejoiced early on the European Parliament's resolution on Nord Stream
The European Parliament's resolution against the construction of Nord Stream 2, adopted yesterday, is non-binding. German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Don’t worry, the European Parliament is an institution of the Inquisition that has practically no power. They have an advisory voice. But now, in three months, they will be re-elected, and I think half of these deputies will no longer sit still there.
One thing becomes obvious - the matter is not in Ukraine, as everyone thought, but the fact is that the Americans do not want Russia and the Russian budget to raise money in Europe, to earn, in principle, for themselves on the European energy market. Therefore, we must try by all means to cut off Russia from Europe.
But I think that neither Germany, nor France, nor Austria, nor Southern Europe, given the current balance of power in their government, can allow this to happen. It’s just a matter of honor, of Europe, of its independence,” he said.
In addition to the expert’s words, Mikhail Markelov, adviser to the head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, spoke out, noting that the resolution is just a recommendation document.
“You know, Nord Stream doesn’t care to exist. That is, the Americans are afraid that another head will be blown off, we will also cauterize it, because the contract has been signed, and the only question left is implementation.
This is another attempt by the Americans to force Europe to dance to their tune, and we see that this is partially successful, but Rahr said correctly: “This is a resolution.” She was accepted, we talked, the elections were held - we fled, goodbye, “Stream” is being built. We will not stop the construction of this Nord Stream because we adopted a resolution.
Because there are contracts with Germany and other countries, gas will flow - everyone will just pray, say: “Thank you,” the politician noted.
“No one is saying that in fact, Russian gas is really very beneficial for the economies of European countries, because it is both high quality and cheap. It is not customary to talk about this. Why? Because it is much more convenient to mold Russia into the image of an aggressor,” summed up the above, ex-host of the Kyiv Anti-Maidan, journalist Yuri Kot.
