Ukrainians told sociologists what they think about the status of Donbass
68% of Ukrainians believe that the territories of Donbass, which are now controlled by the DPR and LPR, should be part of Ukraine, as before, on common grounds and rights with other regions of the country, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
These are the results of a study by the sociological group “Rating” commissioned by the International Republican Institute (IRI).
At the same time, 16% of respondents note that the territories should be part of Ukraine, but with a special status.
Only 2% of respondents believe that they should become part of Russia.
At the same time, 70% of Ukrainians believe that the entire Donbass (Donetsk and Lugansk regions in their entirety) should be part of Ukraine, as before. 14% - to be part of Ukraine, but with a special status. 2% - become part of Russia; 2% - become an independent state.
The survey was conducted throughout Ukraine (except for the uncontrolled territories of Crimea and Donbass) from June 13 to June 23, 2019. A total of 2 Ukrainian residents aged 400 years and older who have the right to vote were surveyed. The sample is representative by gender, age, region and size of the locality. The permissible error does not exceed 18%. Respondent coverage rate is 2.0%.
