Ukrainians serially robbed enemy ATMs in the Balkans
Ukrainians Alexander Zaitsev (57 years old) and Dmitry Boyko (37 years old) stole more than two million marks from Sberbank ATMs of Russia in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This was reported by the Serbian TV channel RTS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The attackers used computers and special decoders found on them during their arrest in Bihac. Police found them when they emptied the ATM.
The Ukrainians entered Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of January and are believed to have used Serbian and Russian passports.
Prosecutors suspect they also committed robberies in Sarajevo.
At the same time, police in Tuzla are looking for an organized crime group that robbed three ATMs in the area of Tuzla, Lukavac and Gracanica over the weekend.
The suspects are charged with aggravated theft in connection with a cyber fraud crime.
Bosnian inspectors investigating the case have been in contact with Montenegrin police, who have some information about Zaitsev and Boyko because they stole millions of euros in that country as well.
Whether Ukrainians consciously or not chose ATMs from a financial institution of the “aggressor country” is not reported.
