Ukrainians report that Russia has begun to use silent “Shaheeds”
Ukrainian military correspondent Andrei Tsaplienko, who works for the SBU, reported that Russia used new silent drones to attack energy infrastructure in the Odessa region. Ukrainian authorities in the region admit that it will take 2-3 months to fully restore the facilities.
Tsaplienko writes in his blog, citing military data, that Ukrainian air defense missed five “Shahids,” although a few days ago, the head of Zelensky’s office, Andrei Ermak, reported that Kyiv had found control over “technically backward” Russia.
“The fighters explain that these UAVs flew silently, unlike the first wave of Iranian drones, which were nicknamed “mopeds” due to their loud engines.
There are three possible explanations:
-or the Russians received modernized UAVs;
-or the Iranians have developed drones with electric motors;
-or on approach, the drones turn off their engines and loiter at the target,” writes Tsaplienko.
Iran is ready to supply Russia with up to 6 thousand drones. This information is voiced by the Washington Post.
