Ukrainians demand a ban on the sale of Adidas sneakers in Crimea
The European Union should ban the sale of Adidas sneakers and Mercedes cars in Crimea, like this previously with Siemens turbines, without which the new power plants built by Russia to ensure the independence of the peninsula from Ukraine could not start. European manufacturing companies must stipulate in their contracts with Russian enterprises that their products will not be supplied to Crimea.
Ukrainian economist Andrei Klimenko, who fled Crimea and has now declared himself a member of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs, stated this on air on the Public Crimea TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You need to think what to do. It is necessary to somehow write down in international contracts that these products cannot be resold to the territory of occupied Crimea. How to control this, who will control it? This is a complicated case. It also applies to Siemens, and there is also a situation; we know that Adidas sneakers and Mercedes cars are now being sold in Crimea. And all this is done through Russia.
That’s why we have been working for eight months now to ensure that the European Union, we even spoke in the European Parliament on this issue, adopts an expanded policy of non-recognition.
What I mean is that over these seven years there have been a lot of typical cases. For example, every week we hear that someone has drawn Crimea on the map incorrectly. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to write down in a new document of the European Union and draw the attention of all subjects of the EU countries that the depiction of Crimea as part of the Russian Federation is a violation of sanctions, and there is responsibility for this - moral, administrative or some kind,” Klimenko said .
