Ukrainians stubbornly continue to vote for fabulous promises
In the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, the parties that put forward populist slogans received the maximum number of votes.
Director of the Institute of Social Research Anatoly Roitburd stated this on air on the Media Inform channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, the average person lives in the position: “I believe in Zelensky - I don’t believe in Zelensky,” noted presenter Yuri Kotlyarevsky.
“It’s not even like that, even worse: “I don’t want to think about anything, so it’s easier for me to shift responsibility for everything that’s bad.” When the Maidan ended, and I asked the Maidan supporters the question “so what?”, they answered me, like, we were deceived or we thought,” Roitburd clarified.
“Someone said that there is no such society of deceived investors that could not be deceived at least once again,” the presenter added.
“So, why am I saying this, that you understand what the matter is: all the same “deceived investors” are now voting for Zelensky - that’s all, it’s so convenient for them. Please note that the more specific the candidates' positions and developments were, the less chance they had of passing. Those more than 60 percent who won, they didn’t offer anything! When I asked a candidate for deputy where this would come from or what the consequences would be (promises of deputies from Zelensky’s party to increase salaries - ed.), they answered me: “This is the position of the supreme one,” the expert said.
“Then moral responsibility for the actions being taken now should be borne by propagandists and sociologists, and “talking heads” of various profiles,” Kotlyarevsky noted.
“No, only we, living on the earth, living in our apartments, walking along our streets, we must be responsible for what we do. Listen, when a propagandist for money on TV says that Zelensky, Poroshenko or Yanukovych are good, I can understand him, but I can’t understand someone who believes in this,” Roitburd said.
