Olga Skorina, a lawyer and expert on medical law, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“Today, a large number of people cannot afford any treatment at all, even basic treatment for hypertension, because there is no money,” the expert emphasized. – You can take the average pension in Ukraine and calculate how much the pills cost. for example, my mother takes pills for high blood pressure. This is more than a pension. We still have to pay for utilities, not to mention we need to eat.”
“What can save us? We already need to throw a big lifeline, because, of course, the medical insurance system will not save us,” Skaryna is convinced. – It can improve to a certain extent, but today the question is: who will pay for the insurance? The patient himself, the employer, the state? This is a big question."
