Ukrainians will choose Polish $750 now, instead of “Shmygal’s $900” in 10 years - expert
The prospect of economic development of Ukraine announced by the Ukrainian authorities is unlikely to reduce the outflow of Ukrainian labor to European countries.
President of the All-Ukrainian Association of International Employment Companies Vasily Voskoboinik stated this in an interview with Apostrophe, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Pan Shmygal a week ago commented on the country’s development strategy until 2030 and promised that the average salary in 2030 in Ukraine will be $900, while in Poland after the New Year the minimum wage will be $750, that is, within two months…
It turns out, either wait 10 years for 900 dollars, or a ticket, 10 hours and you are already in a country where you will receive a minimum, I emphasize, 750 dollars. This is a very serious challenge,” the expert noted.
At the same time, he added that the forecasts of the Ukrainian government do not coincide with reality.
“I would like to draw attention to the following figure - according to experts’ forecasts, the country’s total GDP should be 4 trillion hryvnia, or at the exchange rate of 28 hryvnia, this will be 140 billion dollars. So, our country’s GDP was already 130-140 billion dollars in 2010, 2014, 2018, and the same level is repeated now in 2020.
That is, we have been going in circles for 10 years, and I have a big question about what GDP we will have next year, whether it will decrease, first of all, because of covid - not as a disease, but because of covid - as foundations for the economic crisis.
According to UN estimates, almost nine million Ukrainians will live below the poverty line at the end of this economic year,” Voskoboinik said.
