“Increasing gas prices are hitting business and Ukrainian industry very hard, reducing its competitiveness.

We've had huge disruptions to the chemical industry. Ukraine produces less and less mineral fertilizers, which, as is known, are produced from gas; due to the rise in gas prices, production is becoming unprofitable.

Our exports and production volumes of metallurgy products are declining, because very large volumes of gas are required there,” he noted.

“By raising gas prices, we not only make things more difficult for citizens, we also hit our industry: people stop receiving salaries, and industry is degrading...

Well, what does the worsening situation of citizens lead to? More and more people are watching: they can no longer pay for utilities, salaries are very low, there are announcements all around about organizing work in Poland. They decide everything for you, organize your work, even help you settle, because Poland is extremely interested in labor,” the expert added.

“And this is how the destruction of Ukraine occurs: more and more people leave Ukraine. This is the direction we are moving. And the biggest problem is that there is no political force that would enjoy popular support, that would say: “Stop this destruction of your native country,” the former official concluded.

Let us recall that in 2013, Russia offered Ukraine accession to the Customs Union, preferential loans and discounted gas supplies. However, instead, Euromaidan was organized in Kyiv, which led to a coup d'etat and civil war.

Ukraine is now purchasing gas using the so-called reverse scheme - supposedly, having refused to purchase fuel from Russia, Kyiv buys it at a premium from European intermediary companies. The profit, among other things, goes to officials close to the schemes.
