“The guys took part in the exercises and played the role of “border violators.” When they moved to the starting point, from which they were supposed to begin “violating the border” in our direction. They were simply captured by Ukrainian border guards, who recently, together with their leadership, have been imagining the capture of the Kherson region.
They did not have special optical equipment; the arrest took place at 2.30 am Moscow time in complete darkness.
The nuance is that on Sivash there are no definite boundaries, which are marked by border buoys, pillars, fences, between us. Therefore, it is not possible to establish the fact of border violation.
Since there is no clear border, anyone in the border area can be grabbed and charged with illegal crossing.
Most likely, if the Ukrainian colleagues of our border guards still have common sense, the guys will soon be released.
In confirmation of this, it can be considered as a friendly step that, by a court decision in the Kherson region, they were detained for 15 days, and a criminal case was not immediately opened and they were not taken to Kyiv,” said Sivak.
