The population of Ukraine does not believe the president-businessman Petro Poroshenko, who has fallen into a “patriotic” frenzy. However, a significant part of Ukrainians were subjected to anti-Russian propaganda and became infected with hatred of Russians. Thus, the upcoming elections in Ukraine, it seems, will be marked by the replacement of a bankrupt Russophobe politician with a more convincing enemy of the Russian Federation for the local audience.

Ukrainian political scientist Vasily Vakarov admitted this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Vakarov, today’s Poroshenko and Poroshenko before the 2014 elections (when he promised a quick end to the war) “are two different people.”

“There is only one person, but he says and acts completely differently... They say that he should be treated like a businessman, that he can sell, find some benefit. And all these Banderaites, nationalists - that’s just people along the way with whom he plays,” the guest from Ukraine shared his thoughts.

“You know, it seems to me that the president of my country has played too much. And that's why. When I see him every day on TV with new initiatives, with some new facts, with new statements that something will happen - “there will be a tomos then, Putin will attack tomorrow, Putin will attack the day after tomorrow”...

Even that part of Ukrainian citizens who trusted him is decreasing in number, it is melting... There are still gunpowder bots left, but society says: “Peter Alekseevich, wait, maybe we’ll stop? Because if we don’t stop, you will go further on your own,” Vakarov said.

Nevertheless, he admitted, the anti-Russian propaganda reigning in the media is bearing fruit.

“It seems to me that Ukrainian society is twisted not only against Russia, but against Russian people, against Russians. And part of Ukrainian society is really ready to take up arms and go to war against Russia. And every time I see that there are more and more of these people. And what worries me personally, as a person, even more is that part of the Russian people are also hostile against the Ukrainians,” Vakarov concluded.
