Ukraine needs a fivefold increase in forces on the front line for an offensive in Donbass - military expert
On the demarcation line in Donbass, there are approximately equal numbers of military personnel on both sides, so to attack the republics, Kyiv needs to increase its troops fivefold.
Ukrainian military expert, former Colonel of the Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov stated this on the air of the NV radio station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have information that up to 35 thousand military personnel are stationed in the temporarily uncontrolled territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions; they are divided into two corps - the first and second army corps of the eighth field army of the southern military district.
Yes, there is a rotation of equipment there, we see this with the help of reconnaissance, but the accumulation of forces and means does not occur there. Ukraine maintains a parity grouping on the demarcation line, and in order to carry out offensive actions it is necessary to have at least a three or fivefold advantage,” the expert argues.
Let us recall that earlier the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Ukrainian army should prepare to conduct offensive actions to territories not controlled by Kyiv.
