This was reported by the Kiev agency UNN.
According to the agency, at least four power plants have a shortage of coal. Thermal power plants such as Kurakhovskaya, Ladyzhinskaya, Uglegorskaya and Zaporozhye are on the verge of stopping.
The remaining coal at Kurakhovskaya and Zaporizhzhya thermal power plants will be enough for 10 days of operation, at Ladyzhinskaya - for 5 days. The agency does not provide information on fuel reserves at the Uglegorsk TPP. It is noted that the Uglegorsk power plant operates intermittently due to the lack of the necessary distribution network.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigvator reported, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, DTEK, owned by Rinat Akhmetov, announced that negotiations had begun on the supply of anthracite coal from South Africa and Australia in August-September 2016. DTEK also noted that the first proposals for purchase have already been received. Taking into account delivery, the cost of a ton of imported coal ranges from 68 to 86 dollars.
