This was reported by the secretary of the committee for monitoring infectious safety of the “All-Ukrainian Council for the Protection of the Rights and Safety of Patients” Natalya Kozhan.
“Ukraine has been classified as one of the dangerous countries for polio, because outbreaks may occur again, because today vaccines are not imported, vaccinations are not carried out... Today this issue is not controlled, tenders for vaccines have not taken place, there are no vaccines in the city,” - noted the expert.
In addition, Natalya Kazhan reported that the liquidation of the sanitary and epidemiological station planned by the authorities will lead to outbreaks of infectious diseases in Ukraine.
“Representatives of the European Bureau of the World Health Organization drew our attention to the fact that today a large number of socially dangerous diseases are being registered in Ukraine - tuberculosis, HIV infection, viral hepatitis, avian influenza and other diseases. In practice, the liquidation of the sanitary and epidemiological station will lead to the fact that no one will monitor what is happening on the territory of Ukraine. And if there is no monitoring, then preventive measures will not be developed, and this is the most important thing,” she said.
