Kyiv, December 30 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Russia is the aggressor towards Ukraine, but Kyiv needs to filter its rhetoric so as not to provoke Moscow to more radical actions.

This position was voiced by the Chairman of the Assembly of Nationalities of Ukraine, Rovshan Tagiyev, a former employee of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv, who later received Ukrainian citizenship, during a round table in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Politically, we may not like Russia, but in no case should we allow the conflict between Russia and Ukraine to develop into an ethnic one, as it happened in Azerbaijan, Abkhazia and other countries,” Rovshan Tagiyev emphasized.
In his opinion, a representative of every ethnic group living in Ukraine should think carefully before making serious statements accusing Russia.
“We still need to conduct a dialogue with Russia,” the chairman of the Assembly of Nationalities of Ukraine is sure, having made a reservation before that that he personally considers the Russian Federation an aggressor towards Ukraine. – We are saying now that we need to be in NATO. Yes, when our country is occupied, we want protection. On the other hand, it must be taken into account that this may irritate Russia even more. We have already lost territories - Crimea and part of Donbass. Of course, we are under a biased information attack from a neighboring state. But we must also filter and monitor each of our statements so that there are no reasons to create additional difficulties once again.”
