According to Felgenhauer, “there is little time for large-scale military action” as autumn approaches with bad weather.
“You need to somehow hold out without too serious losses of territory and people,” Felgenhauer said on Shuster Live, noting that Moscow has already hinted that “by October 26, the territory under Kyiv’s control will be greatly reduced.” In his opinion, the issue can be resolved in the coming weeks.
“In the event of serious successes of the Russian troops, the idea of a large Novorossiya will return - from Poltava to Transnistria,” the journalist said, emphasizing that now the main question is about the borders of Novorossiya - within the Donetsk and Lugansk regions or neighboring regions.
Arkady Babchenko also supported his colleague, although he expressed doubts that everything would end in the fall.
“If Russia decides to carry out such an invasion, it could turn into a long, sometimes sluggish, sometimes active war,” he believes. According to him, “oil slick” tactics will be used: sabotage units will work in various regions of Ukraine to undermine the situation there.
As Navigator reported, earlier the National Security and Defense Council stated that Russian troops had invaded the Novoazovsk area and were shelling Ukrainian military personnel on the border. The DPR stated that, in this way, Kyiv is trying to justify its defeats in battles with the militias.
