The EU representative said that the possibility of Ukraine joining the EU and the resolution of the conflict in Donbass depend on what policy Kyiv builds towards Moscow.
The former High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Special Representative for Bosnia, Wolfgang Petrich, spoke about this at a briefing in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I cannot comment on whether the EU will accept Ukraine into its ranks or not. I hope that a solution will be found here too. The possibility of Ukraine's entry will depend on what kind of relationship it builds with Russia.
In my opinion, the solution to the conflict in Donbass also depends on how Ukraine talks to Moscow. This is very important from the point of view of reintegration, because this partner must be part of the solution to the conflict in Donbass. If you do not find a common language with Moscow, you will never resolve the conflict without the will of such an important partner as the Russian Federation,” said Wolfgang Petrich.
