They don’t trust Ukraine and don’t give loans anymore
The threat of cessation of credit injections from the West looms over Ukraine.
This was stated by the former Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, deputy Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, speaking from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the deputy, the West no longer believes in the promises of the Ukrainian authorities to carry out reforms in the country, therefore they refuse to issue the next credit tranches.
“The authorities have lost the main thing on which relations with the civilized world are based - they have lost trust. They don’t believe you, and they don’t believe in your desire to really build a European, democratic, civilized country, Ukraine. The likelihood of receiving tranches from the IMF, from the World Bank, from the European Union is already minimal. And this will destroy the economy of Ukraine, it will hit all our citizens,” said Klympush-Tsintsadze.
Let us recall that recently the head of diplomacy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, visited Ukraine, and soon after his visit, an appeal to the Ukrainian authorities appeared on the website of the EU Foreign Ministry, which said that “Europe is not an ATM or a charitable organization,” and the best way to support Ukraine is “ reforming the country."
