Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on the YouTube channel Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today the world only believes in strength after Putin’s attack, military power and the “nuclear umbrella,” so there must be guarantees around this. All other guarantees are such an important, but abstract conversation,” said the ex-minister.
Pavel Klimkin believes that after the United States gives guarantees to Ukraine in the form of a “nuclear umbrella,” Ukraine’s prospects for joining NATO will depend on how isolated Russia is.
“I believe that for the existence of the Putin regime we will have a real opportunity to receive US guarantees, and this will be a “nuclear umbrella”, and our Euro-Atlantic prospects also depend on how the West’s policy to isolate and weaken this regime develops,” the ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was raving.
