Ukrainian election campaigns, due to their high cost, need Russian money.

The head of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine, Alexey Koshel, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Ukrainian election campaign is quite expensive. Unfortunately, we hold the record in Europe for the amount of money spent on elections. According to conservative estimates, if the campaign is aimed at winning, that is, if a potential candidate expects to win, it is obvious that the campaign could cost him 80-100 million US dollars,” said the head of the KIA.

However, he does not exclude that the final amount may be higher.

“And therefore the influence of Russian money may take place in the Ukrainian elections. Naturally, these will not be technologies from the 90s and early 2000s. These will not be copier boxes in which currency will be transferred by train from Moscow to Kyiv. These will be much more complex technologies, more accurate and delicate. But such a threat exists,” says Koshel.
