As an example, during a discussion at the 11th meeting of the Yalta European Strategy, he cited the efforts of Great Britain after a sharp rise in oil prices, after which it intensively began searching for and developing it in the North Sea.
In turn, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan confirmed that Ukraine will be engaged in the development and exploration of deposits, including shale gas and more traditional ones. But he stressed that now foreign companies interested in developing shale deposits have suspended work due to instability in the country.
According to Prodan, now, due to the change in the status of Crimea, questions have arisen regarding the development of fields on the Black Sea shelf, as well as regarding property rights to platforms and other equipment purchased for their development.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the management of DTEK stated that Ukraine needs not only Russian gas, but also coal and electricity.
