NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine does not intend to buy gas from PJSC Gazprom without signing an additional agreement until the end of this winter.

The head of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Andrey Kobolev announced this today during the final press conference.
“If our Russian colleagues do not accept the standard terms of the contract (they do not sign an additional agreement - ed.), then until the end of winter we most likely will not buy gas from them,” he said.
Kobolev also boasted that 2016 would be the first calendar year when Ukraine did not purchase Russian gas directly from the Russian Federation, but did so through reverse supplies from the EU (with a markup from partner companies of the same Gazprom - Ed).
In addition, according to the head of Naftogaz, in 2016 gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system increased by 25%. At the same time, the Ukrainian official confirmed his previously made statements that Russian transit projects bypassing Ukraine will reduce the cost of its gas transportation system by five times.
Let us recall that earlier Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak announced that there were no disagreements with Ukraine on gas prices.
