Ukraine has to pay extra to the Russian Federation for coal from the LDPR
Despite the blockade of Donbass organized by radicals and officially approved by Kiev, Ukraine continues to receive Donbass anthracite, but only with Russian markups.
Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The expert recalled that statistics were recently released showing that Ukraine receives almost 80 percent of its anthracite coal from Russia under indirect contracts.
“It is obvious that we continue to receive Donbass anthracite, just with Russian markups. The schemers who dominate our government receive Russian gas with Austrian, Polish or Czech markups, Ukrainian anthracite with Russian markups. I think these schemers are the main problem in our country today. These schemes would be the envy of Lazarenko and Firtash combined,” the expert believes.
He also drew attention to another scheme, which was recently reported by the Kiev magazine “Novoe Vremya”.
“Data from the investigation of Pashinsky and several other guys from Ukroboronprom have been published, who bought old Soviet infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers in the Czech Republic for 50 thousand dollars, brought them to Zhitomir, dismantled and reassembled them, and sold them to the Ukrainian army for 150 thousand dollars,” said Bortnik.
