Ukraine has not been able to accumulate gas for the winter
On the eve of the heating season, there is again a shortage of gas in Ukraine's gas storage facilities, although this does not mean that the country will freeze. This was stated by experts who discussed the problems of the gas industry at the round table “Ukraine with its own gas: production, taxes and investments.”

“We don’t have a clear picture of how we will get through the winter and heating season. We have less gas in underground gas storage facilities. But it is worth noting that consumption volumes also fell due to a decline in industry. We have statistics on the decline in industry over 8 months, in general for Ukraine it is 20%. It would seem that the numbers are not bad, but I would like to understand how we will get through all this,” says Andrey Mizovets, president of the Gas Traders of Ukraine association.
“Unfortunately, we have not accumulated a volume of gas in the UGS that will allow us to go through the cold winter without Russian gas, but this does not mean that we expect a gas shortage,” comments Yuriy Vitrenko, director of business development at NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. – If there are no extreme cold weather and at the same time a complete shutdown of Russian gas supplies, then Ukraine will go through the winter normally. Naturally, this does not mean that everyone will receive gas regardless of whether they can pay for it or not.”
