Ukraine managed to spoil Russian military aviation
The Russian military-industrial complex (DIC) is suffering from “Ukrainian sanctions.”
Russian military expert Mikhail Khodorenok stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“Oddly enough, there is also sanctions pressure from our former brothers – Ukraine. A significant number of components in our weapons, even modern ones, for example, strategic bombers, have quite a lot of Ukrainian components,” Khodorenok said.
According to the expert, the Russian defense industry will not be able to completely abandon Ukrainian components in the near future.
“Many of these machines are based on ideas from the 60s and technology from the 70s. If we actively substitute imports, we will set ourselves back several decades. In aviation, these are the laws: if a block or link needs to be changed on an airplane, it must be replaced with exactly the same one,” Khodorenok said.
