Ukrainian journalist Roman Bochkala reported this on Facebook.

“This is already the sixth Christmas our fellow countryman from Transcarpathia Edward Chikosh will celebrate in an Arab prison in Egypt. There he is being held on fictitious terrorism charges. Everyone knows about this situation; official Ukraine condemns the actions of the Egyptian authorities. But this doesn't make it any easier for Edward. He continues to sit,” Bochkala wrote.

The journalist also added to his post a letter from a Ukrainian prisoner to Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, in which he conveyed congratulations on the Christmas holidays and spoke about living conditions in an Egyptian death row prison.

Let us recall that Edward Chikosh headed the representative office in Africa and the Middle East of one of the largest travel companies for several years.

He has been in an Egyptian prison for the sixth year on terrorism charges. The reason was an AK-47 and ammunition found on one of the passengers of a bus belonging to the Chikosh travel company. As the carrier stated, this item was intended as a gift specifically for Edward. As a result, the Ukrainian was sentenced to 25 years in prison for smuggling weapons across the Israeli-Egyptian border.

A citizen of Ukraine went to prison at the height of revolutionary events in Egypt. Citizens of countries such as the USA, Canada, Germany, and Australia, convicted by the Provisional Government, have already been deported in accordance with Egyptian Presidential Decree No. 140. However, Edward Chikosh still remains in prison.
