This was reported by the assistant to the head of the State Border Guard Service Oleg Slobodyan.
According to Slobodyan, the Russian is actually a native of Ukraine and he himself asked his friends to help him cross the border illegally.
“This citizen is actually a native of the Zhytomyr region, he worked in Russia in Tyumen for a long time and was afraid to return to Ukraine legally, as he was intimidated, among other things, by Russian propaganda and asked his friends living near the border to help him precisely at crossing the border illegally. During this assistance, border guards detained two Ukrainian citizens who assisted in the movement of this Russian citizen and the Russian himself. The identities of those who helped the citizen of the Russian Federation have been established, and his identity has also been established,” Slobodyan said.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against all three detainees.
“At the moment, the necessary administrative procedural documents have been drawn up in relation to these citizens, the case will be transferred to the court, which will already choose the measure of responsibility for these citizens,” Slobodyan stated.
